CALS Research Plots

The College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) has conducted experimental research in the fields east of the Eagle Heights Apartments for many years.

As recently as the World War II, much of the UW campus west of Washburn Observatory consisted of experimental fields operated by the College of Agriculture. Today, this small tract is one of the few remaining examples of on-campus agricultural plots that once covered hundreds of acres.

Today, the College continues such work at experimental stations across the state.
