Survey Line a: “Partial Mile Between Sections 16 & 17”
Original Land Survey, Twp 7N, Rge 9E, 16-17 N, 16-21E
After traversing a distance of a little more than three quarters of a mile between sections 16 and 17 before reaching the shore of the lake, Deputy Surveyor Orson Lyon characterized the surrounding country as follows: “Land hilly & 2nd rate Timber White, Black & Burr Oak. Undergrowth Oak, Hazle & grass.” [sic.]
