Sunday April 7 from Noon – 4pm, explore the Preserve with hands-on interactive learning stations for all ages. Learn about campus sustainability and the new Frautschi Center. Enjoy a warm fire and hot chocolate or hot cider at fire circle #2!
EXPLORATION STATIONS:
- Trees with the Friends of the Lakeshore Nature Preserve
- Insects with the Insect Ambassadors, a graduate student-led organization with the Department of Entomology
- Birds with opportunities to use binoculars and a spotting scope with students from Audubon Society UW-Madison
- Soils with the UW Soils Club
- Geology of the rock wall at Picnic Point with WGNHS, DNR, and UW staff
- Indian burial mounds and the people who built them with Brett Hoffman from the WI Historical Society
