Crews will begin removing dead oak trees on Picnic Point starting over the UW-Madison winter recess. All trees identified for removal are dead or show signs of significant decline as a result of oak wilt and are considered hazardous because they could fall on trails or Indian burial mounds. Work is expected to continue through the winter months, as weather permits.
